I need a 62-65 Nikon Nikormat prefer non working, and cheap.
I think it is an F mount.

It must say Nikormat on the front.

It's for a present and will be turned into a clock.

What is a good starting point? eBay is not satisfying.

Something like this? Nikon Nikkormat EL 35mm SLR Camera w/28mm 2.8 Bell & Howell Lens READ DESC AS-IS 610563625154 | eBay

Ebay has a lot of them. Just sort by 'parts not working' in the condition. What is not satisfying about this?

I take it you mean the made-by-Mamiya F-mount Nikormat Nikkorex F, twin to the original F-mount Ricoh Singlex.* That might be a tough order. I have seen one ever and that one was the Ricoh variant.

Steve

* The long-lived Nikomat/Nikkormat line did not appear until 1967 1965.

Thanks for the correction. I will edit my comment and include a note that the Nikomat/Nikkormat models debuted in 1967 1965.

Just to be sure it's not a typo, do you mean Nikkormat - two K's?

I saw a few really cheap ones on ebay so I'm not really sure what is the threshold for cheap but there are a few on shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=889257&u=523490&m=66875&urllink=keh.com such as this silver Nikkormat FT2 as-is for $15.99 or this black Nikkormat FT as-is for $19.00.

Both labeling was used, though there were no cameras with either name before 1967 1965. The closest thing in F-mount would be the Nikkorex F as noted above.

The Nikkormat FT and FS were released in 1965.

Saw a couple of these posted on ebay for cheap at $19.95 -> ebay Nikkormat FT Camera Body Only – for Parts or Repair

Thanks for the correction. There are different dates out there, but 1965 is correct for the original Nikomat/Nikkormat FT and FS. The Nikomat (no "r") was the same camera, but apparently Japan-only.

Since this is for a clock conversion, I wasn't paying close attention to "authenticity" . . .

OP said 1962-1965, hence my suggestion of clarification. They also want the "Nikormat" badging. The combination might explain why the usual sources are not fruitful. Here is a photo of the Nikomat FT variant, found at http://www.destoutz.ch/nikomat_ft_3100635.html.
