Love and Hate.

To me 2 powerful words that I personally wouldnt use with any camera feature description.

Like and dislike are more appropriate(in my mind).

Anyway, here's Martins first look and run through.

Very attractive camera for the price point and feature set. Will wait for further review. This could be my best use case camera.

It's a shame the X-S10 has a mediocre EVF. Otherwise it looks really good.

If you look through it,you wont have a problem. Its similar to the other base and mid range Fuji bodies that function fine.

What Fuji have done is present a sub 1000 bux body packed with close to flagship features.1699 buys T4 with next level EVF and WR, a few more video features and faster mechanical shutter.700 can buy some useful glass.

$ony launched its IBIS crop body last year at 1399.Not many lenses to suit but anyone can pay lots for the FF glass.

I think I'd rather have an X-H1 than the S10. This seems ultimately like a "we can be like Sony, look!" body.

I owned an X-T20. Disliked the EVF. OK for quick snaps, poor for anything more.

Well,i own a few with that level EVF.Not a problem. And a couple with the next level finder which is better ofcourse.

It just comes down to individual preferences.

I'll expect Fuji to sell plenty of this model. But already the knob/dial addicts are condemning it..."un Fuji like".

Every user base sadly has folks who refuse to see beyond their own parameters. The X-S10 is low-risk for Fuji - if it flops, it becomes a one-off oddity that has no negative impact on the X-system mojo, and if it succeeds Fuji expands its user base and they can continue the X-Sxx series or X-H2 or whatever.

Fuji has done so many things right over the last decade it's hard to doubt them.

Came here to say that. Firstly, I din't like the design. Mainly it had to do with the size of the camera but I appreciate the looks now - could easily become your only camera - but the EVF... definitely makes it 'not' your only camera.

Looking forward to see whether the 27/2.8 II will be underwhelming.

but the EVF.
Current bodies with similar EVF.

XT200...XT30....XE3 and people have bought these in the past as their only camera.

Version one is a very good lens apart from the focus motor, its probably all they need to improve.Maybe they will WR it too, which will be a bonus.

I agree! I have the XE3... I am a little disappointed with the size of the EVF (I had the XE2 and that was a much better size) but I have adjusted. The XE3 is an amazing camera, I use it for everything... the idea of having IBIS on it is one that would compel me to engage my G.A.S. and buy it - even with a small EVF... for some people the compromise is worth it!

The X-E4 has been hinted for Q1 2021,possibly with the XS10 ibis. The X-E3 is the smallest current Fuji, but Ibis will mean increased size and weight.
