A new Df would be pretty awesome indeed. I'm curious what these new lenses are going to be.

Would a DF mk II look even older/more retro than a DF mk I ?

My favourite vintage Nikon 'look' is the Nikon F Photomic. Now a Nikon DF, Mk. ll might be too much of a temptation for me to resist and the reason why goes back about 45 years.

I almost bought a new old stock F Photomic, in 1975, but I didn't and as I still think about that, I would say it is a regret that I didn't buy it.

Although, as it was early in my 'good' camera passion, I might of ended up being a Nikonian now, instead of a Pentaxian. I have no regrets being a solid, true blue Pentaxian. BTW, back then , instead of the Nikon F Photomic, I bought a Pentax ES ll.

Price seems steep for it imo. 2800 USD. However, I'm surprised they didn't update it with the D750 internals (24MP Sensor, 51 point AF, faster burst and buffer) but keep the exterior and call it mark II years ago.

Currently, the superior (in specs) D850 costs less! I know the Df isn't designed for the same shooter, but the internals should be more for the money imo.

My guess is that is why we won't see a Df 2 -- they priced the Df 1 too high then point at the lower sales and say there wasn't enough demand for a 2nd! This is precisely what they did with portrait grip support in the D7500 and D780. They removed it (from previous models), claiming sales were low. But the grip itself was an outrageous 400 dollars!

I have a similar experience, started with my Dad's old Nikon F, built a nice little system around it. Sold it all, but recently have seen several F Photomics for sale, been tempted. One was as new, with box and original leather case for $125. I went for it but someone beat me to it. I love my Pentax gear, still looks at Nikon and Fujifilm as well.
