Yeah I mean I don’t think we can ever expect anything different from marketing folks at this point. Like the volume wall in music, they sort of painted themselves into a corner at this point, literally every camera ever has the “fastest af” and “fastest burst rate” and “best dynamic range” etc, all with about a hundred asterisks.

It even isn't. It's the world's first native for Sony E-mount. The Tokina DSLR lens can be adapted! (and the Pentax, I guess, once the Monster adapter ships).

Somehow they've managed to keep enough sanity to avoid any mentions of "to the moon", which is good considering it's an ultrawide.


Jokes aside, it's a nicely lightweight lens for what it is! If the vignetting and distortion aren't horrid it might be a very good option despite the hyperbolic marketing.
