Just wanted to see how many other are running a second system in addition to Pentax here. I'm seriously considering a m4/3 with its smaller format for carrying when i'm camping/hiking and getting an adapter to be able to shoot with all my Pentax glass.

I had previously thought about changing my main system to Nikon for it's better AF tracking, but I just can't seem to pass up the Pentax ergonomics. Anyone shoot Oly 4/3 in addition to the Pentax that can comment on how the AF algorithms compare?

My other system is a Canon. It's easy because I can use lenses my girlfriend buys for her camera. There are some fine lenses in EF mount and I got an EOS 5 semi pro camera incredibly cheap.
I'd consider the m4/3, but definately not now. In a year of two, when there are some decent lenses out there and the body price drop to reasonable, then perhaps. But buying a mirorless camera for higher price than true SLR with same or beeter features? That's insane. These GF1 will drop below 350$ pretty soon.

my primary system is pentax film
my secondary "system" is medium format, a Yashica Mat 124G and a Fuji GA645W
when i absolutely have to, the k100d comes out

I do intend to use m4/3 as my second system, picking up an E-P1 and the panasonic 20mm (who says there aren't decent lenses available for it? I can name a few...). To be honest with you, it'll probably see more use than my "first" system, which is really only "better" for portraits and sports, which I classify as "work" photography.

Currently, my first system is canon. Someday I'd like to switch that back to Pentax.

Just got myself a used 5D because of full-frame.
Now I have three systems (Pentax K, Mamiya 645, Canon EF)
Not counting the fixed lens cameras, of course

If I get along well with the 5D & Canon lenses, then the digital part of my Pentax stuff will probably go and I will only keep the LX & FA-Limiteds.

I've got some Konica gear. The old Hexanon lenses are beatifull and the Konica T3 is a fine mechanical camera.

Thanks for chiming in everyone - glad to see that i'm not the only one that's thinking of carrying another system for specific needs. No system is perfect unfortunately, although I like the number of adapters that i'm see for the m4/3 mount to to be able to port glass over as opposed to investing in a completely new range.

The big 2 obviously have their appeal for faster AF, but as i'm not shooting tons of sports yet, i'm gonna hold out.

I have Canon DSLR as second system. My wife only use Canon, so we share lenses. I also use Bronica SQA medium format film camera with Fuji slide film. I love the bigger negatives of the MF system. That is why I am curious about Pentax 645D.

Generally, "first system" is the one that you use primarily, while "second system" is the one that you use less often or for a less vital purpose.

So, in Pentax, you could have Pentax K-mount digital, Pentax K-mount film, Pentax Screwmount, Pentax 110, Pentax 67, Pentax 645, and soon Pentax 645D, and lets say film compacts and digital compacts. 9 possible systems with Pentax that I can think of. Where are the other 11 you're hiding from me and where can I get some?
