During the period 1997-2003, my family made a trip each year to Pt. Pelee, a Canadian National park along the migration path of various species of warbler. In 1999, we happened to see this pair, which apparently had decided they'd gone far enough, and would nest right here, within view of the hundreds of people who walked along one of the busier trails every day. I don't remember the exact settings, but this was taken with my 75-300mm lens on my Canon EOS Elan camera. Our daughters are now 20-somethings living elsewhere, and my wife and I have made several more trips to the park, but this was the only time I was knowingly within camera range of adult yellow warblers {we did see a juvenile two years ago}

Rodeo Drive, Beverly hills.

Just a house.

And a car.

At the annual father's day car show. This one was valued at $2.5-3 million.

Bijan (now deceased) owned a boutique here and still has his own parking spot. Last year had a matching bright yellow Rolls-Royce.

The "Rita Hayworth".

Dali replicas...

Let's ride - even slightly blurred.

Exposition Park just south of Los Angeles has the ScienCenter, a big rose garden, natural history museum, air & space museum, African-American museum, the Coliseum, a sports arena, and space shuttle display, among other things.

The "California gate" in front of the ScienCenter. The state-shaped central piece is used as the bench behind it.

Also in front of the ScienCenter is a plaza area with an overhead dichroic glass ceiling providing magenta light.

Near the parking lot is a fulcrum with a Toyota truck on one end, and some ropes on the the other. Using the rope on the extreme end, one person can raise the truck.

The only 2-seat A-12 trainer ever built, nicknamed the Titanium Goose. It was the precursor to the larger but slower SR-71. In the left background is a jet mounted to the side of the air & space museum.

The natural history museum has a pterodactyl exhibit, which was the reason I was there. I'm a NHM member so entrance is free though parking is $12.

Rocky Oaks park. Technically in Malibu at the intersection of Mulholland Hwy known for twisty roads through the Hollywood hills, and Kanan Dume Rd, best known for runaway truck crashes at the bottom.

Pretty easy trails.

From the top of the small dam.

A view from the trail.

Lichen.

Up to the top.

Southern view.

Western view.

Eastern view.

Northern view was just a bigger hill.

100 degrees or so!

A mile or two away is "Edward's Corner", named after the now-deceased owner of the motorcyclist-hangout Rock Store two miles away. Low traffic-volume day. Sunday's are better, plus it was around 100 degrees. Occasional crashes but none today except me as I slipped on steep-trail dirt-clods...

Technically, going uphill it is a constant radius and constant camber, then about halfway through it slightly increases radius as it flattens out. So, a bit tricky either direction.

This is the wrong line.

This guy went up and down a few times so I had a few good shots to give him. Met him in the shade at the turnout.
