Little package turned up on the door this morning.

A nice person from a well known camera group has lent this combo to me for a couple of days .. I thought he was kidding until it turned up on the doorstep this morning. As a Pentax shooter who has been looking at the 7D closely I will be interested to see how they perform.

Note the Sigma lens .. the new OS verion

I have until Thursday to play .. and have no memory card that will fit

To be honestI am totally lost at the moment and am pressing buttons and turning wheels just trying to find how to do things on a Canon.

AF is in a different league though.

Weather was terrible today but anyway ...Bigma OS, wide open @ 500mm, hand held at 1/250

How do you find the Canon 7D sensor produces color compared to your 10D - (one of the main reasons I bought the K10D)?

I much prefer the K10D colours, it's the one area I honestly think Pentax cannot be beaten but with a small mount of processing the 7D does very well. I nearly sent the whole lot back early yesterday as it was doing my head in but the weather was better today and I had a bit more success.

well with my eyes and all the pics I have seen from the 7D it really seems to deliver superb IQ - way better than my K10D it seems

Considering the age of the K10D and the difference in price I should hope it does.

Just one small bit of advice being a Pentax to Canon switcher (the 7D) myself - the 7D will do your head in if you're not going to seriously learn how to use it over the Pentax system. It took me over a week and some serious studying of the manual to even begin to get to grips with it - it's not a camera you can just pick and start using, particularly if you're already used to the Pentax controls.

Tell me about it, took me 10 mins to work out how to insert the memory card.
Still, quite pleased with the results considering it was only the second day.

Not sure if I will be keeping it or going for a K-7 although the AF tracking is totally mindblowing.
