FinePix HS10

Noticed this little beauty on dpreview today.. anyone had a look at the specs?

Fujifilm introduces FinePix HS10 with 30x optical zoom: Digital Photography Review

- 24-720mm(!)
- CMOS Sensor
- Manual focus
- 1/4000 sec Max shutter
- ISO 6400
- F2.8 - F5.6 Aperture range
- 10 fps continuous shooting

Sounds impressive. Not to mention it looks absolutely stunning.

the super wide and super long tele zoom lens is unlikely to be built without compromises.
i think spec wise the old S100fs although the camera was larger was probably more reasonable and with a slightly larger sensor. i have not yet really seen if the "Back-lit" sensors are truly more sensitive than the traditional ccds.

Well, ISO 6400 certainly sounds optimistic, but I'll look forward to seeing the reviews nonetheless.

I just sold my Finepix S6000fd which I dearly loved. It took excellent pictures and had most of the features of a dSLR. I used it up until I bought my K-x. If Fujifilm would have had a dSLR in the same price range I would have considered it. I kinda hated to see it go but knew I would be using it any more after getting the K-x. I also have a P&S that is a Fujifilm Finepix.

What intersting is it seems that the shutter lag is gone, that is the one thing that drove me crazy using the compact digital cameras, you learn to deal with it but still I push the button I want something to happen now not 1 sec later.

It will be interesting to see the full review of the H10

Wifey still has her fuji S6500fd and it is a great little camera. no SR though....but the image IQ is not too bad.

I looked at the youtube clip of the HS10 just now...seems like a great camera!

If only Fuji would release another Pro camera like this. I would probably eventually buy it (only say that because the S5 Pro is still overpriced even used).

I was just thinking....the cost of the HS10 in Australia is around $5XX. Still cheaper than a tamron 18-250 lens for the k-mount. If people actually buy the 18-250 lens as a vacation lens (that thought crosses my mind all the time), why not just buy the HS10 instead!

It has almost all the features you will ever need for a vacation!

What do you guys think?

That's because it is a Nikon and Nikon is overpriced.

I would just about buy this cam. Although, an electronic view finder has no place in my world of photography. I don't care how good & advanced it looks.

I actually wish that Fuji would hop on the Micro Four Thirds mount. Maybe the prices would go down a lot, and could you imagine a Super CCD 4/3 sensor?
