The Pier: Test shots with Noktor F0.95 50mm

Check out this video shot wide open, such a beautiful lens!

That was amazing footage. If it was all wide open then its very sharp. It's an amazing lens, but it would be 100mm on a micro four/thirds camera. Its perfect for portraits but 10,000 dollars is pretty expensive for a speciality lens. That said, this lens has a crazy 3-d effect on the Leica m9 wide open.

It is listed for $750-800US.... not even close to $10,000....

I think he's got the noktor mixed up with Leica's Noctilux.

Doesn't seem like a very usable lens at all... that video showed what it is decent at pretty well though (wide open low-light)

Oops, sorry er1kksen knew what I was talking about. I wasnt aware of other lenses that open to 0.95 although I have heard of a cinema lens that opens to F/0.7

Canon had a 50mm f0.95 for their rangefinders back in the day as well. There are some cool samples on flickr if you search for them.
