itshimitis, all I know is what a wonderful world it would be...

That book is full of equations (good for both imperial and metric units). And just like about any other Engineering/Science book in the universities throughout the world if you input kilograms for weight in those formulas, you will get the wrong answer! Confused? That is why I advocate the general public will always be confused on this subject as long as the people insist on calling weight, kilograms.

Tuco, we sure miss you over in the Fuji thread, it's sort of gone dead since you left. I started a collection to buy you a X-T1 to try and entice you back, but so far we only have $2.26 in the kitty....so it might be a while before we can deliver it to you.

You post some fine shots here...unfortunately. Come back to Fuji where you are loved, these guys over here are only envious of you....they aren't your friends like we were!

Regards!

Thanks for that over-exaggeration, Rupert. I do miss making and seeing everyone's Beer Friday shots. They're fun to do especially the ones shot on location in a pub/tavern/bar.

Well, with yesterday's announcement of a Pentax FF camera due by end of year, I suspect the volume of full-frame shots and thoughts is going to increase enormously on this forum in the not-so-distant future. :-)

I think they will be posting in the Pentax threads instead of this generic thread. And I bet more than half of the very vocal APS-C folks around here will have a FF Ricoh in short order after it comes out too.

Disappearing will be the folks that claim they use APS-C to get extra DOF

Good news about a Pentax FF for those who have patiently been waiting. Meanwhile, as a ship-jumper...

Just before Christmas a great band called Hope & Social played 12 gigs in 12 hours around Leeds City Centre. Four of us tagged along, alternating music with beer (plus a little photography for me)

Nice. My copy of the 18mm works better on the 16MP of my Df. On my D810, some soft corners show up real fast. I'd like to hear what you're getting on both of your cameras to see if its my copy.

The Df copes slightly better in my opinion but it is marginal. I'm not going to get hung up about it.

I haven't taken many with the Df and the 18 (even though it was bought for the Df) although for some weird reason this one using the two together last week in Glencoe is my most faved picture on Flickr.

That's a nice one, Mark. Scene lends itself well to the aspect ratio you've chosen and the split toning works well. Feels a bit heavy on the vignetting but that could just be me.

I actually added the vignetting as otherwise it looked like daylight it was so bright. Bigger shadows at midnight than there had been during the day. Beautiful time for a wander and should really have gone for a proper walk and taken some different stuff.
