Yup...none of these cams can be submerged, so comparing them without a testing lab is pointless...WR is WR until someone puts all cams thru the same torture test and shows one to be superior...

It's interesting how K-5 could be better than D7000?
Smaller body and in body SR (about which I am kind of sceptical). I think that's it.

IMHO Nikon D7000 is Nikon's K10D, it is going to steal the show in Photokina

Sounds like a really awesome camera. If the AF is up to D700 standards, could be a great APS-C complement.

I'm still in shock on the Ai-coupling ring...getting pre-order submitted now!!

D7000 is the first camera where Nikon ACTUALLY addressed more than 80% of the desires/complaints of previous model's (D90's) owners...I've gotten so used to Nikon shrugging off suggestions...this feels like a huge win for consumers...Canon is pooping its pants this morning! LOL

I'm also amazed that they debuted a new meter in the D90 line...surely it will fall into the future D300s replacement...and the Custom U1/U2 modes are a first for Nikon. IMO, the D90 was the most appealing DX camera Nikon had until a few hours ago. I'm excited for my Ai-S lenses...now I can sell my D700...this won't best the D700's IQ, but the portability of my old D90 + usage with my MF lenses = bags and bags of WIN!!

Does it cost 200 USD? (if K-5 is USD1399)

The Pentax K7, which has slipped into the D7000's class by virtue of its current asking price, combines handling qualities of both the D7000 and the two Canons, and is arguably one of the most pleasant DSLRs of its type to hold and use.
Nice shoutout.

Looks like great camera, but it think this topic belongs to "Non-Pentax Cameras: Canon, Nikon, etc." area..

Oh, and the D90 shutter button was silver (as all the sub-pro nikon cams) but this one is black...so there is a good chance the shutter button is a soft-press button like the D700/D300/D3 and not the clickety-button of a consumer style camera (like the D90 sported)...its a small detail, but it affects handling...I much prefer the soft-touch feel myself.

Congratulations, Nikonians! The D7000 sounds like a very nice camera on paper.

Now Pentax MUST announce its FF camera to steal all the thunder from Nikon

Great news for Nikon shooters. The Non-CPU lens data function (allows registration of up to 9 non-G lenses with manual apertures) (quoting from DPReview) is really way cool. Also, given the rate of video capabilities improvements, the dual memory slots cease to be a luxury, but become rather a necessity.

I dont' know now, why should I buy K-5 for higher price with same or worse specs (like AF points). Hmmm.
Especially considering fullframe camera for wife (weddings, studio, portraits etc.) and need for good flash system.

Pentax. why? Why you torture us?
