good morning!

a bit of a technical question here - will an L-bracket for an OM-D E-M1 Mark II also fit the Mark I model?

(asking for a friend)

You should jump on the M43 wagon...

PS - E-M1ii is 3mm shorter but 4mm wider than the E-M1. ii is also 4mm deeper - that is the most I can tell you. I do have the E-M1 and I love that camera...

You’re going to love it. I never used an L bracket. The thing is small and has great stabilization so most shots were handheld but for those needing tripod I either used a small arca plate or (god forbid) a simple 1/4 thread.

Wow you got a very close shot; I had to guess it was shot East-to-West.

PS - do go to the Four Freedoms park, if possible at night - you can shoot the Pepsi sign in Queens, and get some odd angles at the Queensboro Bridge. Another great location = Hunter Point's South Park Extension - to shoot midtown and the Queensboro. When I lived in Astoria, it was easy to get there... now I am a bit further east, and tied up to fam...

Right, and I used the tele-zoom that's why it looks close.

Thanks for the tips, I definitely need to go out more but with the pandemic I work more hours now... And I live further north from the city.

Weirdly it shows only 69mm (roughly 138mm on ff or 92 on apsc.) I stayed in Wehawken and the skyline looked farther than that to me. Lol.

I use an L-bracket as a rudimentary grip- extender, to make the tiny camera body easier to grip...

and I found exactly what I was looking for at UPP - a RRS base plate for the E-M1, which will add a bit of depth to the body and giving my pinkie something to grip...

That’s the kind of thing I’m looking to get for my dad’s A7RII. There’s a JJC on that looks good.
