Fast they are! This little guy said he could be at your doorstep by 5 pm today if you give him directions and have some fresh roasted peanuts waiting!

If you are smart...you will pass on his offer....they seldom travel alone. You could be "squirrel infested" in no time!

Regards!

Gotta guard your feed box, no one will do it for you!

Cool shot Rupert.

I've been thinking perhaps I should make some feed boxes so they have a specific place to eat their food, instead of just on the ground. Maybe they'd be more apt to do some antics. I'll think more. All I need is lumber, screws and hinges for the top, ruler and saw, pencil to make a mark where to cut the lumber. I used to help my husband build houses so this should be easy, eh.

They do love their feed boxes, and there is a squirrel on my two from dawn until dusk. Check these out, also if you live near a Tractor Supply they sometimes have them.

They only leave them to take a break and let their jaws rest!

Looks like we have lost old Norm here....I think he got mad at me and took his ball and went home. Otis will surely miss him, he is one heck of a great squirrel shooter!

We need to encourage new squirrel shooters when and where we can to keep us going!

Regards!

BTW- Otis did mention that if you can, find a squirrel feeder with A/C. I gets really hot in there!

We do have a Tractor Supply store but it's about 30 miles south of me, the good thing is, my nephew would take me, he likes shopping there. Plus they have a bird feeder I'd like to get another one. He bought me one for xmas last year and the squirrels can't get purchase on it. It's plastic but the edges are rounded.

As for Norm.....maybe he'll come back once gets glad in the same pants that he got mad in.

Otis sure has a lot of demands for his army. No beer no air conditioner. Especially no air conditioner, if I can't have one, neither can my squirrels.

Those are nice shots Photolady!Around here when a hawk nears, all the squirrels disappear and all you can see is their little gun barrels sticking out of the brush.

Here the big trees in the yard tend to deter a hawk from diving straight down to the birds or squirrels. The only time I've seen them run and hide is when the hawk is in the bird bath or on the fence.

Early morning shot of Squirrel trying to get at the humming bird feeder.

Taken with a Micro Four Thirds camera through a 560mm scope.

Had to bring out the FA50 1.7 as the weather was a bit inclement.

Not long at all!

I found a couple more shots from the archives - taken in 2012 with a Panasonic TZ1. The superzoom came in handy here
