Haha... I was commenting on this to my friends.
Pretty smart of them to make it fixed lens.

Can you imagine if this was interchangeable lens?
Being MF, and mirrorless, flange distance don't pose an issue with adapting EVERY SINGLE lens known to mankind across all format with just needing an adapter..
One could even mount CCTV lenses up to LF lenses, with vignetting at the very most that could be cropped out..

Basically, the ultimate wet dream platform for adaptists..

I'm waiting for Sony to do so and potentially piss every single brand manufacturer to no end.. Especially for the big boys..

This set up is really nothing new. Alpa has supported Phase One backs for years.

It is interchangeable lens. The camera is an Alpa 12C.

ALPA of Switzerland - Manufacturers of remarkable cameras - ALPA 12 TC

$$$$$ (yes, five $)

What you have is a Phase One back ($$$) attached to the Alpa large format* "body" (basically just a receiver for a focus mechanism, $$$), and a Rodenstock large format lens ($$$). The main issues for adapters are image circle and shutter. The Alpa camera may be adapted for medium format lenses shutter lenses, but more commonly is used with large format optics. Yes, you read that correctly, there is no shutter in the camera.

Steve

* The low end size-wise for large format is nominally 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" for use with sheet film of that size.
