Seems only a modest upgrade from the A6000.

The Sony hype is all about it being an improved sports shooter, but while it may indeed have double the number of AF points of the A6000, less impressive in that role is:

- marginally improved low-light AF performance (-1 EV now instead of 0 EV),
- same fps as A6000,
- still poor buffer performance for a sports camera (44 JPG, only 21 RAW's);
- still poor battery life (350 shots);
- still no battery grip option.

The new f2.8 zooms - esp the FE 70-200 f2.8 - do however considerably boost the sports cred of the A6300.

Very nice camera. My only gripe is no IBIS. Outside of that, it looks pretty darn good.

The only problem is the lack of lenses & their cost. The Sony 50mm f/1.8 OSS prime goes for about $248. The Sony 35mm f/1.8 OSS prime goes for about $398! Ouch!

I'm underwhelmed. The rumour mill was churning about WR, IBIS and a 36mp BSI sensor.

The a6300 doesn't have the right improvements for me to upgrade from my a6000. I have no interest in 4K video. I use the K-3 most of the time due to IBIS, WR and lenses. The a6300 wouldn't change any of that. GM lenses do not appeal with their massive size and even heavier price tags.

Kudos to Sony for overcoming the Mirrorless slide show during action shots, but if I had the a6300 I would still use the K-3 for sports and wildlife due to lens selection.

just as well the buffer is small, or you could flatten the battery in about 30s at 11fps
