Have been very pleased with my old RX100M1, and now have replaced it with a G9X Mark II. Not a replacement for a larger camera,
but better than a phone and pocketable ! Let's see how it gets on...

This thread is a very good idea, rob1234, and...
... showing the Low Light capabilities of these 1" sensors an even better idea :

How could we pass the idea to Pentax, for a... 1" BSI Q+ ?

Sadly, for now, the NX mini is the only BSI one with interchangeable lenses
... Nikon J5 is too expensive for me and not able to hold 4 min. Bulb
the IR-Cut Filter is very easy to remove from the NX mini :

Sony RX100M6. I purchased this to replace a Panasonic LF1 to get better IQ and a tilting screen in a camera small enough to pocket for taking along on our AM dog walks. I've repeatedly been impressed by the IQ, but disappointed in the limited close-focus ability. Not quite the perfect never-leave-it-behind camera for me, but very, very close.

nice and vibrant photos @WPRESTO, especially i love how deep micro contrast is!

it's amazing that 1 inch sensor today capable on par with old APSC sensor 10-15 years ago, i tried to compare my rx10 m3 thi my old Nikon D3000 photos, gave me both suprise and nostaliga feeling

I like the first picture because of the diversity of people all having a good time for themselves, with their kids, and with each other. That cannot be bad. That's the way it should be.

I noticed there was a Mark vii being introduced, but it doesn't have the one thing that would temp me to trade up = closer focusing.

I think that design features of the the retracting lens put up stiff odds against any effective weather sealing.

remember cancelled promising Nikon DL18-50? it's possible, i guess the size and weight will increase a little bit but not a big deal, maybe not totally sealing but still effective to resist any dust, moisture, make you happy pocketing the cam on dirty pant without worry

Not to mention them being very effective dust vacuums. Sensor dust removal is deemed unnecessary with these fixed lens cameras, in fact it is used as a selling point as opposed to interchangeable lens DSLR. In real life dust will get in and removing it requires a major disassembly.

If you are bored, peruse my latest snaps on Flickr ...
$$$ony doesn't care, by the time dust is a problem, they have a new model out to buy.Its only a problem with the GR,it takes 5-6 years to get a new model!

Rose of Sharon, a tree I did a lot of work to install (yes "install" not simply "plant") a couple years back is, this year, paying back many days of labor with an abundance of beautiful flowers.
