Unfortunately doesn't appear to be any sort of a miracle drug, but can shorten/lessen the symptoms of the disease somewhat.

(From what I read it is a drug looking for a disease. Didn't work very well against influenza or Zika, but maybe third time's the charm).

I think that if only 5% of the scientists and resources we devote to various fields like consumer imaging, mobile phone production, cosmetics, advertising (and of course the vast amounts we spend on the military) were applied to medical research, stuff like coronavirus outbreaks anywhere in the world could be stomped in a week.
