Indeed folks... E-M1 is a winner (thus far) and the likely candidate.

Honetly thanks to all, without this thread I would not have known about the E-M1...

Pretty much every day in this forums, we live vicariously through other people's budgets...

Let's see what Ed comes up with, I think that camera will be a winner in his hands.

At the end of the day both the E-M10 ii and E-M1 are extremely similar. <snip> sensors seem to be in par, so do the EVFs...
The EVFs may have the same resolution, but the E-M10ii's is smaller (0.62× 35mm equiv. vs 0.74x).

I'd suggest it should be between the E-M5ii and the E-M1 mk.1:
AFAIK, same sensor and processor, same EVF and touchscreen, use same battery, and both have Hi-Res mode (added to the E-M1 in a firmware update)

Differences are:
E-M5ii's screen flips out, E-M1's is tilting
E-M5ii's body is smaller, E-M1's more pro (marginally better weather-resistance?)
E-M5ii had focus bracketing / focus stacking added in a firmware update
E-M5ii is 18 months newer and more amateur, so decent lightly-used copies ought to be available
I've not checked very recently, but in the UK second-hand E-M5iis were slightly more expensive than E-M1s

In short: E-M1 mk.1, unless flip-out screens are important to you.

I normally find myself standing in an area called 'left field'....

have you considered a different mount/camera, rather than a m4/3?

eBay prices on the mark 5ii were a lot higher when I looked. Surprising, but true.

Yes and no... Yes as I am interested in a Fuji X mount at some point.

No as I do like the M43 format and I have a few lenses for the camera already that are quite good and capable...

Any thoughts?

I knew this was coming

Any knowledge as to whether M43 lenses adjust to crop X mount? Then there is also the Pentax-110 glass, which I believe has been shot in APS-C by a few members of the forums...

that I don't know... I've been using only film-era lenses on it, so adapting the M4/3 lenses is beyond me....

OM-D E-M1 is on its way...

Will also couple it with a OM/M43 adapter... I never thought of adapting my OM glass to it (right now my OM glass only fits digitally a 6MP camera).

Cheers everyone.
