I'm bummed I couldn't get this camera, the 60p mode scared me, especially since I have a pretty underpowered Macbook Pro and like to edit extensively

I went with Sony, and while the constant comparisons to the TM700K make me question my decision, for some reason I love handycams and I was glad to see that it worked with final cut express

Great cam

It's a really great cam, I use mine with the HMC-40. The TM700 is lacking some of the picture controls (gamma, pedestal, etc..) that the pro cams have, but it has a great picture out of the box, better low-light performance than I expected (from my experience with other 1/4" HD cameras), better low light than the HMC-40.

60P edits natively in Premiere CS5, even on my old iMac.

My new 64GB iPod Touch works great for viewing my TM700 and Pentax K-7 videos on youtube. It also works great as a barcode scanner to check on the best price for cameras etc.

Ugh! I had to buy windows 7 for my mac for work, and all my sony stuff except Final Cut Express and a $64 Sony Specific remote tripod is all within the return period so I'm temped to try and switch to the 700, that wouldn't be good for my checkbook since I'd have to buy a new editor

If only I would have started building this system a few weeks later I might have been able to buy this cam

I also loaded Windows 7 on my Mac so I could view my native 1080p60 videos using Media Player 12. It works a little better with 64 bit Windows 7 on my 6 core PC I just built but it was worth the $100 for it on the Mac for an OEM disk. BTW my Pentax K-7 1536x1024 videos have the same 4:3 aspect ratio as the 960x640 Retina display on my 64GB iPod Touch 4G and show full screen.

Wow, I can't believe I wrote 4:3 when it does not do 1.50 like 3:2 (640 = 960).
