Attention fellow film users!

Film users shouldn't have to wade though the endless Photoshop threads in the Postprocessing Forum.
IMO film processing and conventional (wet) darkroom should have its own forum.

Please post your opinion in this Site Suggestions thread: Film processing and darkroom forum

TIA,
Chris

I didn't know that that was discussed outside this form.

I would say no need for a new forum, just some understanding mods to let film processing and wetwork live here

Most film processing and wet darkroom related threads are currently posted in Post Processing, Printing, Software and Darkroom.
Unfortunately due to the overwhelming volume of digital-related posts there the film related threads are quite difficult to find.

I agree with Chris.

I think all film related topics should either be in this section, or get a new section.

Until the image is scanned into a digital format, IMHO, the discusion does not belong in the post processing section.

Maybe there needs to be a new section just for "Digital post processing"?

Yeah I agree, I have never even looked at the Postprocessing Forum. Put the new thread in with the film slr section.

What about Pentax Medium Format: 645, 6x7 users? Where do their film processing and darkroom threads go?

IIRC objections to Pentax Film SLR Discussion becoming a catchall led to Off-Brand Camera Discussion etc.

too much fragmentation
I stoped reading the MF forums when they left this space; guess the same will happen to the processing threads

Yes that would make sense. There could be a Menu of some sort:

Analog and hybrid Photography

* Film 135

* Film MF

* Darkroom (Development, Wet Print) / Digital Darkroom (Scanning, Digital Processing)

I have already posted in the other thread. I agree that digital overwhelms the forum and any conventional developing and wet printing is difficult to find. I have given up on that particular forum for this specific use. Its ok for digital stuff but not film related stuff with the exception of maybe scanning but even that can get dodgy.

That's a 2-edged sword. The digital processing stuff overwhelms any film and you wouldn't be able to read anything in that forum on mf because it would be 25 pages back in a day and a half.
