DIY Odd Film Formats

I will probably get in trouble with the mods, but figure this is as good a place to post this as any:

Yep, that is a device for trimming 120 film to 127 size. My understanding is that it will accommodate other formats as well. With 127 film prices running between $8.00 and $14.00 a roll, this little honey may very well be worth getting. Here is a link to the current eBay listing:

...hmmmm...DIY 110 or 16mm?

Probably would be a big mess. I think a changing tent or darkroom would be better alternatives. From what I have read from users of the trimmer, you can get 17 exposures from a cut-down 120 roll if you trim the ends of the paper somewhat so that the extra length fits on the spindle.

I've always fancied the idea of 4x4 "superslides", which fit in a standard 35mm projector.
I'd love to have an adjustable lens 127 roll film camera, were not nearly all of them TLRs...

A lot of them were TLRs, though I think the great majority of those with adjustable lens/shutters were folders (e.g. Vest Pocket Kodak). Most camera types are represented and there was also the VP Exacta line of SLRs (). Here is a link to a Web site devoted to the format:

Now days, most 127 shooters follow the Lomography school of thought and are wielding baby TLRs or Brownies.

If I didn't end up with the Yash 44, I was sorely tempted by the Foth Derby

That was my thought. I'm just not that skilled in a dark bag. (no double entendre intended)

Steve, yep, like that one

I see Photo Arsenal is asking close to $600 for a Derby with an ugly-duckling add on range finder...

But for the real deal, how about a Gallus?
Shutterbug: The Gallus Derby Lux

And this one's a cutie:
127:Kowa

And an Exakta:

However, the 127 format is nearly dead and therefore this thread is entirely a dead end and here only for our private entertainment.
