How are the ME's different?

I have a Pentax ME super & a Pentax ME super SE. Are they the same camera or is there an internal difference.

I think the only differences are the diagonal split prism focus screen and maybe a brown leatherette.

Sorry, Must be something else, as the prism IS split differently on the SE ME , on my K-1000 it's a reg. split. On the other point of the four cameras none have brown leatherette. the k-1000 does however have M-42 lens screw mount . Maybe it's only the "SE" on the face

K1000*SE

According to the pentax master wiki page, K1000 SE has brown and regular black-chrome.

And also from this site, I've look through several SE versions (ME, ME Super, K1000), the SE is only differred by diagnol split prism and maybe brown leatherette. Thats all.

Well pentax do like to create Special Editions, Limited stuff without much difference actually. Maybe this is what make it actually 'special' and interesting

And at your local auto parts/accessories store you can buy a stick-on
plastic chrome badge for your car that says LIMITED EDITION...

Seems hardly worth the effort to stamp SE on the cover. The ad could have read"Optional Focus Screens Extra"or does the SE command special COLLECTORS prices. Leica does that kind of stuff.
