200/4 - 50/1.4, what's the difference?

I don't think it can be a 200mm, that has a 58mm filter ring, the 50mm f1.4 has a 49mm. I think it is a 150mm f4.

I won a few auctions in the past. Expect the stuff to be junky/dusty/fungi, but you might luck out. Haven't bothered with it in a while though. It's almost fun trying to examine the small blurry photos and bad descriptions to figure out exactly what you are bidding on.

That lens has been dismounted and a ring from a 50/1.4 placed instead of the original.

Whatever. The point is that the person doing the listing will just type in whatever is on the front of the lens. I see listings all the time where they say the lens is something like a Hoya Skylight 49mm or Tiffen UV 52mm etc.

Oh I like THAT listing !
Will the Tiffen UV 52mm lens work on a K-5 in auto mode?

That site has become silly in the last couple years. People are paying ebay prices and beyond for untested items described by people who (generally) aren't into photography.

Imagine every ebay auction was no returns/as-is, described as "I don't know much about cameras...", with blurry, small pictures, and just a cursory glance to make sure the item isn't in pieces.

That is what SGW.com is like. You may get a deal. You may get a broken item with no recourse. You may get into a bidding war on an untested K1000 with M50/2 lens and end up paying $50 for a water damaged camera and lens...aka....your new 18oz paperweight.

Caveat emptor
I have to agree on this.
Half of the pentax items are overpriced and you cannot return broken items.
Pics are small and sometime blur.
I would say stick with ebay and you can get better deals.

I troll around on the goodwill site but the descriptions and pictures are so bad something would have to be almost free for me to bite. I do OK on Ebay and even better just ordering from KEH, if they have what I want.

the thing is, occasionally something less common like the black SV a lined earlier will show up or something relatively rare like the Tower 26 which was the sears version of the Asahi Optical 'AP' that sold last night for $90. It had the Takumar 58/2.4 on it that looked in good shape. The body was also in at least good shape. The shutter may have needed work.

Here's a rather interesting item

shopgoodwill.com - #8210062 - Ashai Pentax Slide Copier - 7/18/2011 6:04:00 PM

Would have been more interesting if it included the bellows.

Here's another

shopgoodwill.com - #8210040 - Lens piece - 7/18/2011 6:01:00 PM

a non-working SV will cost less than $20 on ebay.

I even saw a Leica camera sold for about 4.5k on there.
Condition is not as good but the price is higher than ebay.
