I set it to 0 and 255 with a very low contrast. I don't scan for presentation but to grab all the density off the negative as the scanner will do.

Excellent photo! Thanks for sharing. I have fond memories of that place.

It looks like neither one of them wants you to take their picture...

My dogs used to have that look, and my wife has always had that look

Grandure!

I was on the top of Angle's Landing in Zion and some people asked me to take their picture using their camera. I said sure. I repositioned them. When finished, I was tapped on the shoulder and asked again by someone else. I swear I had a line of people waiting after that. If I recall correctly all were smartphone cameras but one.

Thanks Steve! I've visited a lot of National Parks in the last 5 years, and I have to say, this is my favorite now.

Many thanks!

That had to have been a bit perilous, there's not a lot of room to maneuver up there! I didn't make it on this trip, but I may try next time. We did do the Narrows though, very memorable indeed! Here are some images of the visit.

Cheers, Allan

Yeah it's a trail no one would ever build for the public today, I think. I was there in 2017. In the top section of the route there are stations installed in the rocks linked with a heavy duty chain so people have something to hang on to where a slip of your footing coupled with a loss of grip on the chain means your demise in portions of the route.

There was, what I thought, a hazardous section with no chain for 20 or so feet. It was a big, flat sheet of rock you had to cross at about a 20 degree slope. It had some small, loose gravel on it. It was like walking on small marbles on a hard surface. If you slipped there, you probably would keep on going right off the edge! People were on their hand and knees crossing that section in an attempt to increase their surface friction. I thought, of all places on this mile of chain not to have something to hang on to they sure picked a doozy!

Fair to say both of them are probably bored of my attempts to 'test' new cameras...

That part about the flat sloped section made my palms sweat! Maybe I’ll just enjoy other’s pictures.

Maybe that section was temporally out when I was there. You don't have to go all the way to the very top to still see a great view and experience the spot. Reaching the start of the chain section is a good destination too.
