It's still worth devoting a few frames at an attempt. I can't say how much light was available for the shutter speed you needed. But it looks like you could be flirting with a wide aperture making it that much harder on the RH side version?

Yep. While it was a clear sunny day, the flowers were in shade so it wasn't that bright. I think I was around f4 or so.
