I had one of these as my first ever rangefinder. I didn't like the lack of a manual mode, not knowing the shutter speed, the ease with which it could be knocked into Bulb mode (and not notice unless you always press the shutter release really slowly), the 1/500s limitation and it had a size disadvantage over an MX and 50/1.7. I saw no reason to keep it, there are much nicer rangefinders out there for a similar price, such as most of the Minolta Hi-Matic series.
That's pretty much my experience except I didn't pay for the camera and I probably wouldn't want to spend money on a smaller rangefinder (unless I could spring for a Leica and their wonderful lenses). Despite its limitations, the Yashica produces lovely images so I'll keep it. If I find myself not using it I'll probably sell it and give someone the opportunity to love it.

Snow and fog photo I took on Foma 200 film this winter. Developed at photography club with XTol developer (7 minutes). I exposed it at 125 ISO and the negative ended up nearly black. Spotmatic and Super-Takumar 50/1.4.

Beavers make mistakes sometimes, too. This one got hung up in the adjacent tree. Rolleiflex 2.8D, Ilford HP5+, Caffenol CLCS for an 80 minute semi-stand with 4 inversions every 20 minutes to up the contrast. I like this output better than a plain 80 minute stand.

I guess the adjacent tree had to be taken down too.

Got the bird on the way back...

I went on a walk a few months ago with the H1a and the Tele-Takumar 300mm f6.3 (among others).

I got a shot of this bird on the way out... and then got it again on the way back (I think it's the same bird)... but I didn't get this roll out of the camera until last week...

And yes, I know... there's something wonky with the black line at the top... it can go to service now the film is out...

TMAX 100 and commercial develop and scan...
