A British potter, Michael Cardew wrote a fascinating account of his efforts to establish a pottery in Africa using materials and technologies at hand, and described how similar kickwheels may be constructed sans metal parts, e.g. ball bearings. I later visited his old studio at Wenford Bridge (in the U.K.), and purchased a lovely small pot (which I still have) made by his former assistant, Ray Finch. I imagine the kickwheel in your pictures must have had a pretty massive flywheel to overcome the friction. Ceramics is an amazing, ancient technology, now utilized in space age applications. Thank you for posting this set of pictures in particular, though I enjoy all your shots in the High Atlas mountains!
My pleasure, and thanks again to you for your interest and comments!

Slowly getting it together after a 20-year hiatus in the "digital world" … XP2 in my recently acquired MZ-M with my Peleng 8mm fisheye.
Film rated at 100ASA and processed in ID-11, as suggested on the Ilford web-site!
Scanned with my long-serving CanoScan FS4000US using VueScan software.

The image's metadata says you used f1.4 on the camera to scan the image. Is that right?

No, i probably forgot to program the non Z lens i was using in the camera, was using a micro nikkor on bellows so no lens data are transferred to the exif and the last lens used then is recorded as being the lens and aperture used.
