Super 100D w/old lenses

I Just bought my wife a new 100D. She had an old Pentax SLR from the 1970's with a number of lenses. All the lenses seem to physically fit onto the camera. The lenses are:
Vivitar 58-135mm;P/K mount telephoto and an Albinar 28mm, 1:2.8 wide angle. Both are circa 1978. While they fit on the camera, the camera refuses to function. Anybody have any ideas for work arounds? Thanks

Yes, they will work great! They are equivalent to Pentax's K and M series lenses, and you just have to make a few adjustments in the custom menu on the camera. Try this thread:

1. Mount the lens on the camera-body
2. Select AF/MF button on the camera to MF (MANUAL FOCUS)
3. Set camera ON
4. Select 'Menu' Go to 'Personal Settings'
5. In 'Personal Settings' select the option for Using 'Aperture Ring' then select option 2 followed by the OK button. (you willonly have to do this once)
6. When using the camera with a manual lens it will first ask the focal length (58mm if you use the Vivitar) Select 58 or whatever is closest to 58mm. Press OK button
7. Your cam. is ready to work with the old lens.

It sounds like your wife has some nice lenses there Nuker, I'm sure that she'll get some nice pictures with it.

I believe Samsumg makes a lower-priced more-or-less clone of the K10D.

Buying used is always one option for saving some $$$.
