Rear door ME Super?

Need a new rear door for a pentax ME super.

Just wondering if it shares parts with any other cameras? Is there any other camera's door that I could use?

Just guessing here, but a Pentax ME door should work.

You should check and see if the door from a super program would work - if I remember correctly it has a thumb rest.

The film-reminder slot doubles as a thumb rest, though it is pretty subtle. As for whether it fits the ME Super...that would be a question for someone who has access to both cameras.

I just checked - yes it does seem to fit. But I imagine ME and ME Super parts bodies are easier to come by. Also to be fully confident it's a good fit, a roll ought to be shot and examined for light leaks.

To be honest, I never loved the combination of film-minder slot and thumb rest. The ergonomics are fine (for holding on to the camera) but I find that my thumb is always dislodging whatever contents I've got stuffed in to the slot.

The ME, Super, MEF, Program Plus, Super Program all seem to work and of course IF I were replacing my door with another, I'd get a data back of either the ME Dial or the ME Digital types to fit the Super.
