I've never liked extra clips and doodads on a strap. I use either the original Pentax leather straps, or take off the stock rings and use a Leica M strap, that attaches quickly, locks on tight, and has plastic locks that also protect the camera finish:

Nikon's version of the triangle ring had plastic guards built on.

If a strap is attached, the fabric/leather itself is usually enough to prevent the metal from contacting the body.

I thought all you "professional black finish" lovers preferred lots of "brassing", for that "experienced" look...

OK, then what are the strap attachers that most rapidly produce an authentic 'pro' look on a camera?

In many ways there seems not to have been a need to:
"Four of the group's LPs charted among the Top 10 selling albums for five weeks in November and December 1959,[3] a record unmatched for more than 50 years,[4] and the group still ranks after half a century in the all-time lists of many of Billboard's cumulative charts, including those for most weeks with a number 1 album, most total weeks charting an album, most number 1 albums, most consecutive number 1 albums, and most top ten albums.[5]"

Personally, having grown in utero and on listening to The Four Lads' Istanbul not Constantinople on 78rpm, I don't think any Kingston Trio comes close They were the true Fab Four. My two other in utero influences were Eartha Kitt at 78 rpm doing Uska Dara, and Wilhelm Kempff on a DG 45 rpm single doing the Moonlight Sonata. All through a Thorens / Quad tube / 300 ohm antenna wire / Tannoy concentric in a sand filled reflex box mono set up. Ultra tweak for the late 50s.

Just a quick note regarding the leather/fabric guards. While they may prevent metal-to-metal contact, they do not totally prevent brassing. The guards themselves may be a source of abrasion as they accumulate dust and grit.
