Pentax Z-1 accessories

Hi,

Can anybody tell me if I can change the focusing screen on the Pentax Z-1?

I've had a look in the manual and there is no mention of accessory screens but I have seen at least two screens that are supposedly for the PZ-1P.

The screens in question are the FP-60 and FM-60.

I'm almost certainly going to buy the FD data back for my Pentax Z-1 and thought that I would get the screens at the same time as I'm having to order from the US.

Regards
Mcik

I wonder if my data back Fb will fit the PZ-1/Z-1? I will have to wait to see when the PZ-1 arrives.

I have a hand made powergrip form 4xAA battery. Probably hybrid a original handgrip and MX II grip. This work a very well, and look like original. My grip probably have a connector for AC adapter. But not tested this.

It's a pity the PZ-1/Z-1 didn't have an AA grip. When I bought my SFx in 1989, I also got the AA grip. The 2CR5 battery was quite expensive then (not that it's cheap now!)

I wrote that it is hand made. I bought a camera with this grip. And it's work well, very well.

I linked a picts with this.

I have the grip on the Z-1p, it's not that useful in that it doesn't have any extra functionality but it is ergonomically good and looks just right.

Very neat.

On the SFX, the battery grip replaces the 2CR5 battery holder. It's a pity it doesn't fit other models. I can't find a pic on the 'net. I shall have to take one and add it to the forum accessories page.

I would love one that fits the SF1n. I have only seen it in pictures.

It's probably the same as the one I have. The SF1=SFX, SF1n=SFXn

I fished the AA Battery Grip out of a camera bag. It was in its original box. I must have bought it after the SFX. I bought the SFX in Saudi Arabia in 1989 and their currency was riyals.

The grip box has a price tag on it - $36.95. I suspect I bought it in Norfolk Island when i lived there 1990-93. If so, it would be expensive today at that price but flamin' more so then! Of course, I might have bought it in Hong Kong on the way home from Saudi where its price would have been equivalent to about A$7 to A$10 - highly unlikely to have been that cheap.

Yes, SFX and SFXn have this same grip. I have a SFXn with this grip. For me SFXn is a jest second film body. Price is good, shutter speed is ok. But about a grip. I don't know why Pentax made a camera with 2CR5 battery type camera. For example Ricoh XRX/XRM have a AAA battery... In my opinion generally 2CR5 battery is only photo type battery. I don't know any other electronic with this battery...
