MX light meter calibration

Hi all,

This is my first post but I am a long time reader.

I recently bought an MX body to use some of the manual focus lenses originally bought to use on my K-5. The MX is fantastic, but seems to underexpose by around 2 stops.

I can compensate for this by using the ISO settings, but I'd rather it was correct.

I removed the top of the shutter speed dial and I can see how the resistor for the ISO settings works, however I could not see how it could be adjusted.

Does anyone know how to adjust this? Perhaps it is the wrong way to go about it?

Any tips would be very welcome indeed

Many Thanks

So... which version of the right side board do you have?

The single potentiometer or the one with multiple?

I'm not sure -- I had only removed the shutter speed dial to reveal the piece that turns to change the iso setting. Is your photo under pentaprism? If so I'm going to have to remove the top plate and have a look. I'll pick up the correct screwdriver from work tomorrow and get the top off.

Thanks!

The MX service manual may help you. Here it is: http://www.pentax-manuals.com/manuals/service/mx_sm.pdf

Take photos and document any changes for us to see! Good luck.
