Hi

I am having a Pentax ME Super which has K mount. I am planning to buy a Sigma 28-200 lens meant for Pentax Kaf mount.

Just wanted to know about any possible issues that may occur in such combination, of using Kaf lens on K mount body.

I understand that everything adjustment will be manual, but apart from that will any mounting related problem appear?

I am bit new to pentax model. Any help on this would be appreciated.

All K mount equipment is interchangeable and performs within the limits of the lowest common denominator. So a Kaf lens will mount just fine but will only perform with the features available to both pieces of equipment. In this case, all manual, no auto focus, etc.

You do have to watch out for lenses that do not have an aperture ring. DA lenses and FA J lenses I believe. These will still mount properly but without an aperture ring there is no way to control the aperture and thus you shoot wide open all the time.

From bitter experience - DA and FAJ lenses always shoot fully stopped down, not wide open, on non-compatible SLRs.

Yeah, I was thinking M42 which are always open unless stopped down, k-mount is always closed unless the camera can control it.
