Metering and the SMC-M Lens on a ZX-M

Today I happened to be browsing through my owner's manual again, like a good little amateur photographer, and came across this:

When a lens with no lens information contacts is used, center-weighted metering is automatically set. When using a SMC Pentax 50mm f/1.2 lens with the lens aperture set other than the A position, the center-weighted metering mode will be set instead of the multi-segment metering mode. As the exposure will come out 1 stop over, set the lens aperture ring to [A], or adjust the exposure deliberately to 1 stop under.

Is this notice (which occurs at least twice in the manual) specific to only that lens, or to any SMC lens without contacts?

Thanks!
