ME Super on the fritz......

Hi, I have an old ME Super that has worked a treat for the last 3 rolls of film but it has developed an annoying problem.

When I have no lens attached it works as it should, but with any lens fitted it only works below f4. If I go above f4 the film advance and shutter works normally once then when I try to advance the film again (still above f4) the shutter automatically goes off when I release the advance arm. If I return to below f4 it does the same thing once but returns to normal after. If I unclip the lens and turn it slightly then it works normally on any f stop.

I can use it as is but only with the lens not clipped in, very very slightly unscrewed.

So it is something to do with the aperture link in the body. Any ideas?
Really love this camera even with its blotchy viewfinder so really want it fixed!

There are forum members who know a lot more about this than I do, but what mode do you have the camera in? Are you sure it's the aperture setting, and not a corresponding shutter speed (if in 'auto' mode)? I don't remember problems between the aperture arm and the winder linkages, but I think I remember issues for certain shutter speeds due to wear on parts If it really is the aperture arm, it may just be slightly bent.

Non of the shutter speeds make a difference, they all work fine as do the rest of the electrics. It's definitely the aperture connection causing the trouble but I think its deep in the camera. I'm thinking about sending it to harrow technical, and get the rest done with it, light seals, rust, gunky viewfinder etc.. Was kinda hoping it would be an easy fix but I want a reliable camera and my bodging so far has only made things worse.
Thanks for the help.
