A3000

Hi, I'm Rex. I bought an A3000, along with a number of lenses and misc equipment back in 1985. The equipment has been maintained in pristine condition, and - I hope - still usable. So, my question is: will the lenses that fit the A3000 fit any of the newer digital cameras, and, if so, which ones? Thanks

All of the lenses that fit the A3000 will fit and be usable on a Pentax DSLR.

Non 'A' lenses use stop down metering.

A few third party lenses might have issues. Some third party lenses have the 'Ricoh' pin that can get stuck if the AF drive, and some have an extra long aperture shield that has to be cut down to clear the PZ/SDM electrical contacts.

My favorite A series nifty fifty came from a used A 3000 I bought in about 1995 or so. I used it yesterday on my new K 30 and have used it many times on the K-x. Best lens I have...

Thank you. I really didn't want to just chuck these lenses as they were quite expensive when I bought them. I;ll be looking at acquiring a new DSLR soon.

I have an A3 I sometimes use with my M40 as a pocket-able point, focus and shoot. The over-ride button is useful, although the one on mine takes a bit of pushing to activate, I guess it's a bit gummed up.
