After a Few Years...

Hi all,

I've been on this site for a while and admired the progression and advancement of the Pentax brand. I recently switched to a canon DSLR from my Pentax K-X however I still always wanted a good Pentax camera to use my 50mm 2.0 on... so at the local camera show I bought a K-1000. Can't go wrong with film photography as well as the camera. It works flawlessly!
My girlfriend also picked up an old Spotmatic SP500... works equally as well.
Photos will be posted soon!

The SP500 is an underrated body. I've still got a SP500 kit supplied with Takumar 55 F2 lens, that I purchased brand new in 1972/73. It is still in perfect condition. Only CLA'd once, fifteen years ago, and the foam is still good.

A little quirk of the SP500 is that the shutter speed dial will advance one click beyond 500 to give you a 1/1000 of a second. Probably the worst kept secret in the universe.

Maybe, but not guaranteed.
