That is the strange one. It has been included in histories of AOC, but was not made by Pentax.

The camera wasn’t (neither was the Press Van) made by Asahi, but the lenses were.

And it’s interesting how much all the 645 folders look the same at first, until they don’t

The Press Van (depending on which model) and Mine Six also both shoot 6x6, so they’re a bit larger than something like a Minolta Pearl Semi.
And the Press Van is a bit more heavy duty, which you can see in the lens surround and support arms.

The first model of Press Van from 1953 (which I own) is more advanced than the Mine Six. The focus is done with the knob on the right on the camera like the Plaubel Makina 67, there is no frame number window on the back, the film is loaded from right to left and the frame counter is around the knob on the left which advances the film. The release button is blocked until the film is fully advanced and the shutter is armed ! There is one window to focus (magnified) like a rangefinder and a second window to frame, but you can also use the sport frame which is the silver frame around the lens and the accessory on the hot shoe.

Another view :

My Nikon F2 Panderized cuz I'm bored working from home...

The panda thing is popular amongst Leica doods and is a result of mixing bits of chrome and black Leicas together. Thus the panda. Of course pandas aren't from Japan, but, ya get the point!

(Is it 2022 yet?)

I think the Panda is not my thing but it’s a great looking camera. Hard to do better than all black for a Nikon.

I've seen it done with Nikkormat badges too.

SMC Pentax 135-600mm f6.7

A quick iPad shoot of the “Bargain” grade SMC Pentax 136-600mm f6.7 zoom I just received from KEH Camera yesterday. In every aspect this lens is Excellent + except for being a bit stiff due to forty plus year old lube. A beautiful piece of craftsmanship from Asahi Optical Co. The lens is the first/early version produced 1975-77 then the markings were changed a bit. I need some sun now so I can try her out. Tried last nigh, but even at ISO 5000 I could only muster a 1/125th & f8. The beast weighs in at 9lbs 2 ounces without the camera!
