A quick iPad shoot of the “Bargain” grade SMC Pentax 136-600mm f6.7 zoom I just received from KEH Camera yesterday. In every aspect this lens is Excellent + except for being a bit stiff due to forty plus year old lube. A beautiful piece of craftsmanship from Asahi Optical Co. The lens is the first/early version produced 1975-77 then the markings were changed a bit. I need some sun now so I can try her out. Tried last nigh, but even at ISO 5000 I could only muster a 1/125th & f8. The beast weighs in at 9lbs 2 ounces without the camera!
I take it the aperture markings are not visible in the viewfinder . . .
Typical KEH underrated find. Looks like it has a couple of good reviews/samples. I was surprised it's available in an M42 mount.
Great find and hope you get some good use out of it!

No apertures or any other info in the finder.
The mount is detachable and there is, if you could ever find it, an m42 mount too. Full manual diaphragm which is OK with digital since you can use AV instead of M/green button with stopped down metering. Even if I can’t use the behemoth very often, it makes a very nice addition to my 1957-77 Pentax collection.

My Camera Club Mate Richard gets up very early and goes to car Boot Sales an d gets 'Bargain' Cameras then loans them to ME to try lout with film ! He had a nice COSINA CSM M42 Pentax Mount one and I renewed the light seal foam strips and then he said I could KEEP IT -- so I can use all my Pentax M42 lenses with it ! KI did a VIDEO all about my findings with it which you can see here :

Looks a beauty and in super condition. Getting it re-lubed if necessary shouldn't be too painful. I've not been thinking about K-zooms in my quest for K-primes, but that one is certainly interesting. Great you have the matched close-up filter too, they often are missing.

That's a very handsome camera, and one I hadn't heard of.

I was into compact 35s for a while and picked up a Rollei 35, Minox 35 and the Chinon Bellami which was a favorite. I've got this one and somewhere the full kit, display box, flash and camera. I don't think I payed more than $20 for either...now I see them on eBay for over $100...which is crazy really.

It looks like they forgot to finish making it...

Or like a character in a really niche horror movie... "when she turned around, his rangefinder windows were gone!"

Seconded!! Though a nice black K2DMD would look nice in between those two...
