And the saga of the K2s continue:

Not in pretty shape but hopefully in working conditions.
Great stuff, the K2DMD is a beauty to use.

A couple of new acquisitions - an Asahiflex IIa and an Asahi-Kogaku Takumar 500/5

The lens is interesting because it is different to the usual Asahi Opt. Co. Takumar 500/5 in that the aperture is quite close to the rear of the lens while the aperture on the AOC version is about a third of the way down the lens. As a result the lens barrel has also changed quite a lot. So there has been quite a bit of development between the two even if the optical arrangement (two elements) remained the same.

That's awesome! The 165/2.8 is on my "Someday" list, now that I'm a freshly minted 6x7 owner.

A wooden Sanderson Quarter Plate camera I got about 1966 for £24. It has the plate holders and I have used it with a 'Rada' rollfilm back. It has a 5inch f6.8 Cooke-Luxor Anastigmat lens in a 'General' shutter, speeded 1/5th-1/100th second + B and T. It has 'double extension' for macro work, cross and rising front, and swing front. It is 'British Ensign'made. Now I have discovered the shutter is jammed open so it will be difficult to use it.
For leaf shutters like your "General", Carol Miller at Flutot's Camera Service is the go-to technician.

I went on vacation recently...I took quite a bit of camera gear with me. (My fiancee praised me for my restraint in only bringing two camera bags.)

My Pentaxes. 6x7 with 105/2.4, Spotmeter V, newly acquired Q with 01 prime, MX with 35/2, WG-II, and LX with 50/1.4.

My entire setup, minus my Yashica-Mat 124G, which I forgot to get out of the camera bag to set up with the rest. Q with its 01 prime and two toy lenses, the 6x7, the Leica M2 with 50/2 Jupiter-8, the Voigtlander Bessa-R2 with 35/2.5, the Canon Serenar 85/2 RF lens, Olympus XA, RX100, LX with 50/1.4, Sony NEX 5N with "Lens Turbo" Pentax K adapter and standard Leica M adapter, Tokina 80-200 3.5-4 and 28-70 f/2.8 zooms, Sigma 17-35 2.8-4 zoom, and a Sigma 24mm f/2.8...and of course, the Pentax Spotemter V. Somehow in all this, I missed the TLR and my Tamron 90/2.8 Macro.

Lucky sod. Mine cost me $450...but it's in excellent condition and will soon have a working meter courtesy of the eBay seller. It was listed as working but it doesn't now.

I was referring to the 165 2.8. I got my body and 100mm f4 macro lens for around 650 including shipping and paypal fees. These lenses are so cheap compared to 135 format. Just saw a 45mm f4 go for $240 this morning on ebay. A world class lens for 240. seriously I can't believe it took me this long to notice pentax

That makes me feel a lot better! And you're right. The 67 glass is going for much less than even Pentax 645 glass, and I think it's because it's all manual. Most of the 67 lens designs are top-notch, some of the best optics ever made, and much faster than the competition from other 6x7 cameras like the Mamiya 7/7II RFs and Mamiya RB67.

it's easy to think you have it bad till you meet someone who has it worse

Kait is very understanding of my propensity for a lot of gear. She herself can't pack light to save her life. We went on vacation to NC to visit friends...my friend Heidi's entire collection of cosmetics was about half of what she brought. Then again, Kait's an AVON rep, and Heidi was never much one for makeup, so that may be an unfair comparison.
