Which one of these two will you keep? The Contax 137 MA or the black Spotomatic. I have way too many precious but unused film gear

Or it will hurt to compete the thought of picking my red camera or my Spotomatic

I am self-punishing over my inactivity with films.

In order...
Yes,
Yes,
Yes you are.

It would hurt to pick. I would pick them both, you are self punishing for no good reason. But if I had to pick I would take the Contax, for no other reason than I like the red. Everything I own is black or silver. So the red is a real interesting camera to me.

The Contax is known for having a frail original body covering and many (most?) surviving examples have been redone. I believe this Contax has one of Aki-Asahi's $14 USD kits. He has them for a wide range of cameras and you could probably "red" one of yours if you like. He has many nice materials.

Aki-Asahi Camera Coverings

He can make a kit from any of his available materials, not just the selections listed for a particular camera model. Here is one of my Spotmatics in "Red Lizard Embossed" (actually cowhide made to look like lizard).

Sweet camera, most of the time I prefer it to the Zeiss

And a pair of tiny range finders. Pacemaker Speed Graphic 23, from the first series of 500, around '47. Century Graphic 23, from around '65. The Speed has a CZJ Tessar 3.5/10.5cm, probably a cherished lens of the first owner -- the Ektar, if it was one, was probably 'better' - and he took off the front shutter body release mechanism.
The Century has the 80/2.8 Xenotar, which is an awesome lens.

Looks like a Linhof anatomical grip on the SG at right. I also note the bar atop the rangefinders for a Kalart-style flash (my first flash gun, looking bigger than the cameras on which I used it).

I was just gifted a Super Ikonta 532/16. I don't particularly like this model. This camera needs a cleaning and otherwise seems to work ok.
It has the red T tessar Opton 2.8 80mm lens, with black front standard.
Anyone interested in a trade?

I would like to get a wide angle lens in a shutter for a 2x3 press. 65mm or maybe a 75mm, the 65mm is what I really want.
Any interest?

I was thinking the same thing. The 2x3 Graphics have always intrigued me.

What's more interesting is that I presented the lens and body to a "professional buyer" (see first image with "Achat" sign) at the swap and he offered me a nice sum for it despite "bad mouthing" that condition of the front element and the altered mount ... an offer of 600€ is not bad IMHO. I did not bite since I plan to take the Angénieux to the Paris swap in June to see what can get for it ... this one may very well finance my "dream project" for a nice 67 kit ...
Bonsoir, Jean Poiters.

I am curious, when and where is the Paris swap? It would have been fun to go there.

Regards
Baard-Einar.
