Only if you are happy to let it go for $1.
For me, that would not even pay for the wrapping. I see you are in Iowa, but in the UK hardly anyone is buying on Ebay at present (except for K1000s of course) so whatever your starting price, that is what it will probably sell for - if it sells at all. Everything I have sold in the last two years has had only one bid, and for every item I did sell I have ten that did not. It is not just me, I have watched things sitting on Ebay for years, even at 99 pence.
I set my starting price at the least I am prepared to sell it for, which will be at least £10 because that is about the cost to me of selling it, considering wrapping, fuel, and the car-park fee in town by the post office, to say nothing of my time. If the market decides my stuff is worth less than £10, having been unsold on Ebay for six months or more, I reach the point of throwing it away. This now includes certain lenses, flash units, and accessories. That is what my kids will do anyway when I snuff it.
On the up-side, as sole bidder I have bought things at their starting price that were worth far more, from people who have started as low as you say. These left me feeling guilty to be honest, and I'm sure the sellers were disappointed. It is a buyer's market right now.
