I've used black electrical tape before.

I looked out my Tak 28/3.5 lens hood (complete with original case) just the other day with the intention of taking some gear shots of it. Haven't done it yet.

The camera on the left is an odd camera, MZ-M. It was introduced in 1997, some years after the first MZ (1995) came to market. It is a manual focus camera, very simple. And from my understanding it tried to replace the very successful K1000 (1976-1997!) as a simple entry model.

It was sold at the same price as the K1000, and there were two zoom lenses with manual focus still in the market. To my understanding the smc Pentax-A 35-80 was the standard "kit" lens.

In the winter I take a lot of closeups just to take some pictures and recently I finally picked up this Rodenstock APO-Macro-Sironar 180mm lens for that purpose.

And a picture using it.

Yep, the MZ-M is an odd one. All the difficulty of manual focus but none of the enjoyment. Between it and a K1000 I'd go for the latter, as long as it wasn't the cheap Chinese plastic version that came later. But then I think the P30 was also available alongside the K1000 and I'd take that over either.

Have you shot film through all of them?

only once on a FM, still planning on using the FE2 and FA one day but there are so many others waiting to have film run through them I don't think i'll be using them any time soon.

Once again, something a little different... I finally sprang for a set of Kanto MR-9 386 PX625 adapters for my Luna Pro S to see if it would work reliably. I have a n original gray Luna Pro that does fine with PX625A alkalines and is only about a half-stop off, but the Luna Pro S was four or five stops off with the alkalines. So much that I thought it was broken, but I thought I'd try one last thing. And it works just like it was designed. The meter is spot-on.

For those of you who wonder why I'd bother... yes I have a Sekonic L-308 and an L-558 electronic as well. I have a phone app. But the first meter I used back in the early '70s was a Gossen Luna-Six (European Luna-Pro) and there's just something about the tactility of those old Gossen meters that makes their use satisfying in a sensory way that electronics just can't match. Yes, they all do the same thing... reach an exposure evaluation for a given scene, but the Gossens do it with style and finesse... elegantly. And I like that. I also like my 1978 Seiko self-wind diver's watch I bought new at the Navy Exchange, my Barnack Canon rangefinders and lenses, and my six-speed manual transmission Jeep. So I guess I'm just a luddite. There you go.

From left, the Gossen Luna Pro S with EV and Zone Systme scales, the original gray Gossen Luna Pro, and the Luna Pro F, an ungainly brick-style beast that uses a 9V battery and gets the job done but is probably, next to the Gossen Spot Meter, one of THE most unfriendly-feeling meters I've ever experienced. But I have it nonetheless.
