Some post modern film cameras i've enjoyed shooting with. Both the Canon and Nikon are AF but the Nikon is the more "rugged "one and has interchangeable viewfinders, the Contax and the Leica still rely on manual focus, but the Contax has a rather good focus confirmation indication. To some extend they all suffer the same problem, if the electronics fail it is game over or it will be very hard to find someone able to do the repairs.

Awesome.I have owned all of those. The R8 is no longer with me because the electronics let me down on a cold day.
My F4 was bought very cheap and no longer works. Most likely an ex-press camera. I love the EOS 1n - a rugged and perfectly designed pro camera. Its great that you can swap the grips and still get most of the performance with a more manageable weight. The F4 is a boat anchor even with the smallest grip. The Contax RX is superb, probably my favourite out of all of these cameras.

The Contax is definatly the smoothest to operate, i like the Leica a lot amongst other things it still got a film advance lever, the Nikon can work with just about any of my 50+ nikkors and i can use a waist lvel finder on it, i haven't used the Canon enough to judge it, hopefully one day before i sell it

It doesn't have to be more modern than the LX stuff for me. Actually, my MXs are my favorite, but I own almost the entire viewfinder system of the LX.
And my baby was cured of sticky mirror syndrome + CLA a few years ago in UK. Match! ... Ok, no autofocus, but I don't really need it for analog.
Already far too much electronics on the thing...

I bought my EOS 1n for £100 before prices started going up. There is no film counter on the 1n (like the 1v) but the camera looked like it had hardly been used. Inside the film chamber there is a printed code that can be used to determine the date of manufacture. It turns out mine was made in 2000, which was one of the last ones made before the 1V was released.

Its a really fun camera to shoot when I am in the mood for a more modern shooting experience. Mostly I prefer older mechanical cameras like the MX but its fun to mix it up from time to time.

Easy to see the difference in DOF. Trickier to evaluate the difference, if any, in bokeh, but IMHO the 16~50mm has the edge (softened edge that is).

Yes I was somewhat sloppy inbetween shots the tripod was moved, didn't think much of it maybe I'll try again and "work" with some more presicion. Still I guess you get the general impression. Need to test the Voigtlander 35 1:1.4 (on digital) but I'm still waiting for the adapter, when that arrives I'll make a new set up.

Loving the Spotty on the right. Nothing like a nice bit of brassing on a black camera.

It's a nice one to think Leica once made one of their M series wich was (even) more expensive than the "normal" black version, because it came with brassing off factury, a bit silly no? PS. the brassing of the spottie goes well with the "golden" decoloration of the thoriated 1:1.4 50 super takumar

Something my parents gave me and I fondly remember the slide shows with relatives growing up. I think this model was introduced circa 1955. I looked on ebay for what one would sell for now and it looks like it would cost you more for shipping and handling than the price of the unit.

Cameras inherited by my fiancée from her grandad.

From left to right: Olympus Trip 35 from the 70's, Fujica Auto 35 from the 60's and Vredeborch Felica Duo 120 from the 50's.

Luckily, the Olympus was stored properly and the meter still works, and the Felica being purely mechanical seem to be working fine also, so I'll try to run a roll on those. The Fujica on the other hand doesn't seem to be working, I believe the metering has failed and it seems to be fully auto.
