K-1000 serial number question.

I guess I'm a bona-fide collector now: I have 3 K-1000's, all great, crown jewels, each & every one. But, I was wondering if any out there in the ether had a handle on the serial number vs the progression of differences in these cameras. #6085670 has no 'bump' on top; #7660660 has the 'bump'; #8334448 has no 'bump'. #6085670 has the serial number on the bottom, not inked in; #7660660 has the serial number on the top, inked in; #8334448 has the serial number on the bottom, not inked in. It seems that #6085670, & #8334448 are from the same batch, & #7660660 is from a different batch. Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks.

I would take a look at the serial number database to identify the trends. There are also some inconsistencies!

The first post in this thread has a table with the production order to the extent we have been able to determine it.
