Help!

My problem is that I got new batteries, and the light meter doesn't work! (for my ME Super)

I also got a weird problem with it when I put new batteries in, is that the shutter only goes off if I have my mode dial onto Auto or M.
Whenever I shoot a blank on 125x or B, the mirror never comes down, but when I switch to Auto or M, it comes back down.

This is still very confusing to me as I'm still a beginner with film cameras.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

-Chris

Have you got the batteries in the right way? Try reversing them.

Do the batteries hold the proper charge? They should be around 1.5V each.

Clean the battery compartment with an eraser (the ones at the end of a pencil) and blow to not leave any bits
Then make sure you have them in the right position

a manual for your camera can be found here:

That's you sorted, it's easy done.

Make a quick note of the battery orientation for next time you change, so you don't give yourself another heart attack.
