Best film body?

Just out of curiosity, what is considered to be Pentax's best 35mm film body - their "pro" model if you will. Back in the day, I used a simple K1000, but never did investigate anything beyond that. Today, I'm wondering what was mated to these beautiful FA* lenses. Thanks for your insight...

My opinion, and that's all it is, is either the LX or the MZ-S. No doubt the PZ-1p and others will get some votes.

The LX, PZ-1p and MZ-S. But the K1000 will always remain the purist's camera.

The MZ-S is without a doubt the best Pentax film SLR as far as feature sets go and ergonomics.

The PZ-1p is a great body at a low price, but clunky for my hands at least.

The LX is a hard and tough body with interchangeable finders and the ability to outlive any situation.

And the MX, for its great build and small size, it can do anything you need it to do, and still fit in your pocket with a pair of primes in the other.

Of course, the MZ-S is the best of the best, as far as use every day and working with, and to see one with the 31mm Limited mounted, its just beautiful.

although the LX is a great body, to get the most out of FA lenses get a PZ-1.

It is the film version of a K10D

For me the MZ-S, top of a great range (I have the MZ-5n which is'nt far off)

Never got hold of the PZ-1 so cannot comment.

I have just looked at the spec of the PZ-1p and I want one (with an MZ-S) its neck and neck with both. So I would say either of them for the ultimate film body.

Now to look at the auction sites..........LOL

Har. I have a ZX-30. Light and snappy. Love it. Shame about the plastic lens mount, though.

LX. I almost bought a new one about 23 years ago. I didn't as I only had so much budget and I wanted to go medium format, so I bought a new Mamiya 220 Prof F TLR. Great camera, but in the end I didn't use as much. Probably should of got the LX.

I don't get it.

Isn't the "Pentax *ist" the only film camera able to make use of DA lenses? So, for somebody seriously interested into film alongside digital, that's about the only and best film body.

The FA* lenses were made for the PZ-1 which has amazing focus speed, then came the MZ-S, almost as fast with more features, pick one you can't go wrong.

For the purest it is the LX all the way although no AF!!
