I Indulged In A Little Pentax Evangelization Today. Hehe..

I dumped the Canon AE-1 and the Nikon EM I had on a dolly pal who shoots with both Canon and Nikon and who still uses old film cams. Sent her a care package with those and while I was at it I put in a P3 and a decent but not too pricey to lose 50mm lens. I figured why not? I didn't want it anyhow not particularly being a P3 fan and I think everybody who's into photography should have at least one Pentax. :P

Good for you.
But, um, don't you think one of your Spotmatics would've made a better first impression?

Are you MAD? I would never part with a Spottie for anything less than a considerable sum of cold, hard cash, and even then I'd have to be pretty hard up. :P

I sacrificed a decent 50mm K mount Pentax lens. That's enough...lol. I suppose I could have been really magnanimous and sent her one of my K1000's. It's not like I am lacking them. (I have THREE in nice shape and I never use them because of my KX's and my Spotties....) But I was actually thinking of selling those or trading them or something. I have small hopes but I do have them listed on CL locally.

I do my best. In the past 5 years or so I've actually given away a lot of bodies and a few lenses that weren't worth much to the local junior college for their photography dept. The teacher there is always grateful for them and he gives them to his students. Pentax I've given away a couple of ME Supers, a couple of K1000's, a couple of P3's. My one niece has a P3 and the *ist. I still have too many bodies but at least I'm down mostly to good ones.
