Excellent - it would be great to see more serials come forward to try and expand the database some more. As it stands, there are only four known black versions with two of those accounted for in this thread. If the 10% rule is right, and 1000 black and chrome were produced, then there is another 96 to find (lol). I would not be surprised to learn that there are only ~20 black one left in existence with perhaps ~100 chrome.

I have a black one and with that I am momentarily satisfied. After all, my funds are going elsewhere at the moment (school fees) so I had better be responsible

I have a chrome and a black, so more than happy. Think the chrome will have to go on sale.

220413 has now passed into my hands (via eBay) and sits in the cabinet with the japanese KM, K2 and 6x7 demonstrators, transparent Auto 110 and SF1 and SF7, and dummy K30 and KS-1 and RS1000. I think that just about covers all of the styles of Pentax demonstration units.

Oh, I think there was a transparent K-20D on eBay recently with a very high price tag. I'm happy just having some of each type rather than chasing every different example.

Too true!

How many are there? I would really like a head count on what remains. Looking at the serials it seems there is a trend. Chrome ones have serials below 210000 whereas black ones are 220000+
