Pentax H3v (Honeywell) 1962-1968

Hi everyone.

I have a Pentax H3v (Honeywell) 1962-1968. I have seen post's about the Ashasi version but haven't seen anything on US made Honeywell version. Is my research flawed or am I holding a fairly rare SLR?

You may also want to check out our database:

Pentax SV (H3v) - Pentax M42 Screwmount Film SLRs - Pentax Camera Reviews and Specifications

The H3v was made in Japan and is the same camera as the Asahi Pentax SV except for the model designation and the Honeywell branding. Pentax was very popular in the 1960'es so I doubt that the H3v is rare.

Definitely not rare, though the equivalent Pentax SV is a lot more common.

Yep, that's the one I have original lens as well. I don't have the light meter though, which would be cool. Had one on my last "older" Pentax. Great feature

So, after a little bit of looking around the H3v was made between 1964-68. Great camera, I love it. Still takes awesome pictures with a little bit of effort and knowledge. I even managed to find a f=135mm Hanimar Automatic. I would love to get a hold of the light meter that can attach to this camera.

They pop up on eBay from time to time. Prices vary all over the place. Be careful, many are sold as-is and do not work.

You may also see a clip-on meter for the SL, which looks the same but will not fit. These are extremely rare.
